MVSC Standard Code of Conduct
Mid-Valley Soccer Club programs play an important role in promoting the physical, social, and emotional development of children. It is therefore essential for parents, coaches, and officials to encourage our youth athletes to embrace the values of good sportsmanship.
Moreover, all adults involved in our youth events should be models of good sportsmanship and should lead by example demonstrating fairness, respect, and self control.
I therefore pledge to be responsible for my words and actions while attending, coaching, officiating or participating in all youth sports events and shall conform my behavior to the following code of conduct:
I will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
I will not engage in any behavior which would endanger the health, safety or well being of any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to engage in any behavior which would endanger the health, safety or well being of any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
I will not use drugs or alcohol while at a youth sports event and will not attend, coach, officiate or participate in a youth sports event while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
I will not permit my child, or encourage any other person, to use drugs or alcohol at a youth sports event and will not permit my child, or encourage any other person, to attend, coach, officiate or participate in a youth sports event while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
I will not engage in the use of profanity.
I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to engage in the use of profanity.
I will treat any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee with respect regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation or ability.
I will encourage my child to treat any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee with respect regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation or ability.
I will not engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
I will not initiate a fight or scuffle with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
I will not encourage my child, or any other person, to initiate a fight or scuffle with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
At the discretion of the Mid-Valley Soccer Club Executive Director or Board of Directors, violations of the code of conduct may result in, but not limited to:
Warning
Suspension
Expulsion
Coaches Code of Conduct
I hereby pledge to live up to Coaches Code of Conduct (As shown in Affinity during registration)
I will do my best to ensure that all of my parents and players have read and/or understand the code of conduct.
I will do my best to place the emotional and physical well-being of my players ahead of a personal desire to win.
I will do my best to never use profanity.
I will do my best to treat each player as an individual, remembering the large range of emotional and physical development for the same age group.
I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for my players.
I will do my best to promise to review and practice the basic first aid principles needed to treat injuries of my players.
I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for all my players.
I will do my best to lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players.
I will do my best to provide a sports environment for my team that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
I will do my best to be knowledgeable in the rules of soccer and Keizer Soccer Club and I will do my best to teach these rules to my players.
I will do my best to use those coaching techniques appropriate for each of the skills that I teach.
I will do my best to remember that I am a youth sports coach, and that the game is for children and not adults.
I will do my best to make sure that every participant in each game plays at least 50% of the game.
I will do my best to make sure that every participant plays at a level that corresponds with their ability.
I will do my best to make sure that every participant be taught the fundamentals of soccer.
MVSC Players Code of Conduct
Please take the time to go over the Players’ Code of Conduct with your children and discuss the importance of good sportsmanship. Win or lose players are encouraged to have fun, develop a deep sense of respect for all (opponents and officials) and challenge themselves to better their soccer skills. Each player is expected to use proper skill and technique when engaging in any type of body contact.
Play for fun.
Work hard to improve your skills.
Be a team player – get along with your teammates.
Learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline.
Be on time.
Learn the rules and play by them. Always be a good sport.
Respect your coach, your teammates, your parents, opponents and officials.
Never argue with an official’s decision.
Do not engage in any form of abusive behavior toward any other person.
Understand your rights to play in an environment free from harassment and/or abuse in any form. Report any such incidents immediately.
